About Karen Marie Shelton
At an early age, Karen Marie Shelton was drawn into the heart-stopping, nail-biting, thought-provoking world of true crime. She became immersed in the world of deviant behavior, psychopaths, and serial killers spun up in Dr. Sara Sutker's sociology classes at the University of Missouri in St. Louis. Ultimately she graduated with a Bachelor's in Sociology with a minor in Psychology.
Karen parlayed her never-ending thirst for acquiring additional academic enlightenment into Masters's and Doctoral programs at St. Louis and Washington University.
Obsessed with crafting a meaningful, heartfelt narrative, she merged her passion for true crime with advanced writing studies. Most recently, Karen has been writing professionally for Quora's True Crime and Medium's CrimeBeat.
A naturalized Texan, she’s addicted to gorging on writing courses. Karen lives in Dallas, where she can often be spotted pacing and talking to herself. Her life partner describes her as quirky. Her first book on True Crime "How to avoid murder while using a dating app" was released in 2023 on Amazon.
